Anyone using Rom Editor V4??? having some issues

got the new V4 editor the other day and my nifty cable and all.

but something that is not covered in thier help topics is saving the files from .bin to .RE4 files and the reversal of it to burn them to a chip

i have tried opening up all my old V3 files and i can do so, tilli go to save them, then when i want to re open them, i get prompted with "rom is not the proper size, cannot open" i have looked on the hondata forums, and it says the KB size has to be different which is an association with the new V4 software

anyone using this stuff wanna shed some light on this for me, thanks https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif

I've had this problem a few times, and it annoys the shit out of me. What's happening is that the software is saving the file with the wrong extension, thereby confusing itself the next time you try to open it. Save it as a bin, which you probably did, then see what extension the software put on the file. Chances are, it saved it as a bin file but with an .re4 extension, or vice versa. Regardless, change the file extension and it will open.

I assumed that had been fixed, but I guess not?

I ran into this issue with the romeditor v4 also. The install instructions do inform you to save using the .bin extension.

If you are find a bug, document it and email support@hondata.com with the issue so they can try and replicate it & resolve the issue. https://honda-tech.com/forums/images...s/emsmilep.gif
