Default Anyone using an electric exhaust cut-out?

I needed to quit things down a bit, so I installed the silencer in the exhaust tip. I would like to install an electric cut-out. Any reccomendations or comments?

I don't know why but most cutouts have it set up so when it's closed it goes straight thru the normal exhaust system, and when the cutout is open, the open leg is the one that goes off at an angle. Maybe that's more for install convenience rather than for proformance reasons.

What brand did you use?

How well does the flap prevent exhuast from comming out when it is closed? Is there leakage? If so how much? Explain what keeps it seal up.

the flap does a real good job of preventing exhaust coming out. they redesigned it with a thicker plate to help seal the leak. unless your making a ungodly amount of power it shouldn't leak.

btw, QTP's and MCcord's electric cutout are the same. it's just one employee quit and started his own brand.

There is a small leak (using a stock b18B so it doesn't produce enormous HP ) that we've noticed so far. The part is CNC'd so it is a tight seal but when you look closely at the valve you do notice a small hole near where the center rod of the valve connects to the entire unit.

We're waiting for more carbon buildup to occur to see if that will rectify it or make it worse. Thus it still being in the "testing" phase.

As far as the small leak, it sounds the same if you had a very small exhaust leak (not noticeable at idle)

I'm thinking of getting one of these cut-outs. Do you think most muffler places would weld in the Jeg's piece? I went to a couple places to see if they would LOOSEN the bolts on my cat so I could take it in and out when at the track, but they wouldn't do it! Choads.

Tntgsr, just wondering...is that a v16 in your avatar?!
