Default Anyone use two belt tensioners?

I was looking at an old vid I have of Gardella's civic. He runs a additional stock tensioner on the front of the block and I was thinking of doing this for peace of mind. Obviously this is for high rpms, but Im sure it'll wouldnt hurt us guys that only goto 8500 also.

Any thoughts?

My friends and i have thought about making an additional timing belt tensioner that is simpler, more like the type that are used on serpentine belts, something that just pushes onto the belt and could just bolt to the front of the block.

Damn, I cant find any pics. Hopefully I will get the video coverted and be able to show it.
It was a fabbed up bracket where the power steering would be just holding a stock tensioner.

Gary did this because he had problems with the timing belt jumping while the car was on the two step. He runs very big cams and has a very violent two step on that car to help spool the monster turbo he runs. We have never had a problem with that on our car and i'm sure you'll never run into that on a street car. Just make sure you tension the belt right...

Thanks for the info Tony. Im sure it had a lot to do with his setup, and was there for a good reason. I think it would look pretty cool on a street car though. I notice sometimes how much deflection there is on some motors that run w/o the covers.....looks kinda scary.
