..as an intake pipe?

At first glance it looks like the hardware store dryer hose I used to use but it says its steel not aluminum. I didnt like how the aluminum would crush.
Its also $50 while the hardware stuff is $5.
3" or 4" inlet/outlet
The downside is its rs akimoto



and for $20 more you get this cover with it

I bought one of those things, planned to use it as an intake pipe too. Its rated at 15 psi ; I haven't tried to bend it yet.

It feels pretty solid, that's all I can say ...

This is sold at summit and JC Whit (I think). I almost bought the 3" insulated stuff, but it's like $80...

Bump for more comments... Oh and it's impossible to flow "more air than smooth pipe", but I doubt it adds more resistance... it's pretty smooth on the inside...

Im using it as a temporary dump tube piping. Its cool how it moves about and all, but for a dumptube it makes it sound like ***. I almost hate having to listen to it when the wg opens. I miss my old setup that used a Harley Davidson drag pipe as a dump tube......sounded bad *** and louder then any open wg ive ever heard!!

I know this doesnt help as i used it to expel gases and your asking to use it for an intake. Give it a try.

But, FWIW it looks like that cheap "muffler repair" kit stuff. convoluted piping. That stuff isnt air tight i dont think.

yup saw that product at sema. It can withstand 40psi of pressure and heat up to like 400 degrees or more. ITs kinda kewl stuff. Its for guys that cant use bends and stuff makes things easy.

hmm how long does it come in? im thinking of using it to make a cold air extension for my intake pipe.

how stiff does it get after you bend it how you need it? is it going to fall down with the weight of a filter on it?

I bought some of that aluminum 3" flex piping for my filter's intake, and I haven't had any problems. My filter fits snug in there, so it doesn't topple over.

Yeah its a proven fact that for some weird reason, air will flow faster over a slightly imperfect surface, than it will over a smoth one.
