have you restarted it? there are a finite amount of times you can access a com port after each startup

Do you have any other com selections other than 1 and 2?

did you check device manager? sometimes the available com ports on your computer are named differently!

did u try different baud rates? usually data bits are 8, no parity, stop bits is 1 and no flow control.....start the baud rate (bits per second) from the highest rate and test...keep going downwards and test to see if it helps!

its prefered to do this on the software you are using on your ecu....does zdyne software have port settings? if yes perform the above on zdyne...if not try it from device manager

is this a direct USB connection between your laptop and ecu or a USB to serial adapter/convertor in between? i would suggest upgrading to Win 2k (myself am using XP Pro) and i think you need a virtual driver from the net! most of the com problems are from the drivers used which most likely are out of date!!!

i went through this and everything is good on my side now, but apparently i went through this when i got my chipped ecu and wanted to run the ostrich and datalogging!

good luck
