anyone tune a d16y8 with hondata timing related
im trying to tune my car and as you know s300 only has a z6 map. now im very confused on how to set timing properly.
do i use the z6 map and sync the distributor to 16 degrees and lock that in. or do i use 12 and than subtract 4 degrees from the whole map
im street tuning it so i dont have access to a dyno
motor is a z6 block with y8 head/cam/gear

Syncing the timing just means verifying that the timing the computer outputs and what actually happens is the same.
If I can generally I like to set timing at zero and use the TDC mark on the crank to sync it a little more accurately.
If the ecu is locked via software @ 0 degrees, and you move the dizzy until the timing light matches the TDC mark on the crank pulley then you are "sync'd"
