I had the exact same setup you do(SSAC mani though and tuned w/ Uberdata) and on it's 2nd pass out it went 12.40 @ 110mph. I loved my LS

My set up

CRX
B18a
Ramhorn Manifold
3" dp and exhaust
mild tune on street
dsm 450cc
9psi with t3/t40e

I don't know how much I'm putting down or my ET since I haven't been to a track nor a dyno, but I kept up/beat a FullRace boosted b18c1 EK. So I'm thinking 240ish? I have no idea what my time will be though. But I really hope it's gonna be in the 12s somewhere.

that turbo is gonna be a bit small for your application. It will spool pretty quick but prepare to hit that brickwall on high end.

on my friends b16 this turbo did just fine, ******* all over the road when he'd mash on it, took a bmw m3 down the freeway with this turbo and a fmu. i also have a cable b16 tranny so that should help quite abit more then the ls one.

why would you think the b16 tranny will help more than the LS? B16 tranny with LS isn't the best, most people did not like this set up. Also, keep in mind that the b16=1.6l while the b18=1.8l, so it might be fine on his b16 but it wont' be the same on yours. And don't plan on do much on the high way with that b16 tranny. Do a search on b16 tranny and LS block.

Sure did, 12.40 @ 110. It was a garrett Ta3107 .48/.42 off of a 2.0L perkins diesel. There are about 5 members here that can vouch for the turbo and it's runs and user REV-HIGH now owns thew car/setup.

dam nice to hear that, so its bascially the same size as the garrett i have right? .48/.42? whats it spool at,ever dyno it? and also im guessing the b16 tranny will yeild faster times due to the shorter gears, quite honestly i think its a gsr tranny at 70mph my rpms are at 3700 or so, on my friends b16 cable tranny his are at 4k or so.

Never took it to the dyno. Injector duty cycle calculation said 220whp worth of fuel though. Torque and traction were probably key in that setup. If you are planning on running anything smaller than a 24" tire (225/50/15) on the street w/ the B16 tranny I would steer clear of it. At 7K in 4th on "normal" size tires (23"/205/50/15) you will only be at like 99mph w/ the B16 tanny. GSR tranny would be an optimum tranny and good for both street and strip use. LS gears are to long IMO. I just use tire size to aid gear ratios

Nice setup bro. And as far as the tranny goes, slap that bitch on there. Once you learn how to drive it and don't mind not having a 150mph top speed, it's a night and day difference. Shorter gear will always be faster no matter what the circumstances are, as long as you can drive it.

Unless the car next to you has an extra 2000 RPM that you DON'T have. That's bad advice IMO. The B16 will run the stock LS motor out of RPM to quickly. Oh yeah, and how often do you do 150mph?

jesus 6500rpm full boost? my buddies sc61 on a b16a2 is better than that lol, whats your redline at. also on hmt i was checking out the turbo projects, a guys b18b with a t3 super 60 on 10psi made 226.9hp 240.0ft-lbs, gota love the ls *** end. 35cc bigger then a gsr block and over 200cc bigger then a b16.

Yea, that's the beauty of an equal length mani and a big exhaust side. I'll be getting a .48 exhaust housing pretty soon which will yield better power band and more power.

so u think i should stick with a .48 when i upgrade, im doing this for reliability purposes as well as a fun car to drive, i've been reading up on super 60's and it seems ideal or maybe a ct26?

Picture it this way. Two car both make 250whp at 5000rpm, which tranny is going to get you to your peak power faster? Yeah, you will be shifting sooner than a longer geared tranny BUT you are reaching your power faster. Advantage of having shorter gears:
Reach your peak power faster, not having to worry about falling out of the powerband.
Sorry to jack this thread. I'm done..

BTW: Point I was trying to make about the 150mph is that it's stupid. No need to go that fast anyway.

I disagree about the tranny. I have an ls, and in 3rd and 4th i rip the gears like nothing. I don't think a shorter gear tranny would be good unless you are looking for something other than drag racing. Unless you want to be shifting all the time.

Do you have a log or tubular mani? That has alot to do with spool time.

Just from personal experiance about the trannies. I have had both on my b18a1. After ditching the long *** gears and switched to an S1 the car is a night and day difference. It really comes down to what you prefer. I daily drive my car but I also like having the shorter gears. It doesn't bother me. The shorter gears are just an advantage to have when racing. Do a search around here and on g2ic and you will quickly learn that the whole longer gears=better for boost, is the biggest crock of **** on here.

I never said longer gears were better for boost. I know that is a crock of ****. I was just stating that the ls tranny isn't really that bad for boost, unlike everybody tries to say.
