Re: Anyone running Clutch Specialties? (DFW)
My friend has been daily driving the 6puck sprung for the past year on his mostly stock gsr(he had plans of going turbo, but I think he changed his mind) and he loves it. I've tried it out before too and it grabs pretty damn hard. He has the 8lb flywheel too. I think the only problem he's had is that it makes a weird noise when he's idleing but it drives fine, I think he messed something up from getting too aggressive with the shifting. But otherwise it's thumbs up for him.
I know I don't actually own it, but he lives right next to me and he's my best friend. So I see his car all the time and I drive in his car all the time.

How is it driving in traffic and around town?

Re: Anyone running Clutch Specialties? (DFW)
i have one. Used it for 2000miles stock b18b making 275whp 231ftlbs. Slipped 1 time when it was 150miles old on the very first dyno pull. It was awsome afterwards...6puck sprung. Very nice on the street, obviously its not like a full face.
Im now using the same sprung disk and a extreme pressure plate im getting from LSD motorsports and shooting for 600whp.

So it slipped once, but never again? Odd...

Re: Anyone running Clutch Specialties? (DFW)
nope, i dont know if your supposed to break it in or not but I didnt. I slapped mine on, drove very easy 150miles to j-k-tuning. Hopped right on the dyno and the first pull showed 120whp or something very low like that due to the clutch slipping. Right after that it never slipped again reaching 275whp for a few pulls, numerous pulls on the street with spiking into the 14psi range which is over 300whp. I sent my plate to lsd motorsports a week or two ago for them to inspect it and its very much so in spec after 2000-2500miles hard driving on the street. I would deff reccomend the clutch.

It's fine, you just have to get used to it. It's not impossible to drive, just takes a little more skill and patience. It's not impossible though.

Re: Anyone running Clutch Specialties? (DFW)
I have one in my YS1 (GSR) Cable Tranny and I absolutely cannot stand it...it has been nothing but annoying since the day I put it in. Grab is harsh, pedal is ok...and yes it does grab hard, but a daily clutch, nope...not for me.

Re: Anyone running Clutch Specialties? (DFW)
i'm running a clutch specialties 6 puck stage 3 in my DD, with a 8lb flywheel, from LSD motorsports. i think they still sell them, but i believe that brian may be branding them under his company name now. you might want to PM him and make sure. i like mine a lot, and the price was really good. i think a lot of people on HMT run them and they're all happy with the quality too.

clutch specialties buys parts from act and builds there own kit..
now they are using Competition clutch parts and building kits to keep the cost down..
Dont get me wrong but i used to run Clutch specialties but not any more
I rather pay a fee extra $$$ and support companies that support Drag racing or any racing organization...
