curious how loud/obnoxious it is and if you are running any sort of resonators and mufflers.

The downpipe on my SE-R goes from 3 inch to 4 inch right below the manifold and I'm running open downpipe from there on. It's not too loud idleing, but when the driving starts it gets a little loud to say the least.

I dont plan to run open dp lol
just wondering how loud a 4" setup is on the street. i dont even know if they make 4" resonators. so i would assume if its just straight 4" piping to the muffler, its gonna be pretty damn loud.

I am running the 4 inch alum exhaust that turbojesse made for me. My car sounds like a v-8 when it idles. My dad who hates my hondas says he actually likes it.

4" full exhaust is louder then just 4" open downpipe. I daily drive 4" exhaust with no mufflers or anything, it is loud as hell and not reccomended but i love it.

My alluminum exhaust is very quite, I built a by pass valve that doesn't open till 5 " HG, at which point it's very deep.

Picture being in a quiet church and then screaming.(Full Exhaust) Now, picture being outside on a flat plain and screaming. (Open Downpipe)
Sound is sometimes amplified when it reverberates. But when it just travels freely without bouncing back and forth, it tends to be more quiet.

I can vouch for this. On my turbo SE-R at first I just ran no exhaust at all around on the street. I didnt even have a downpipe just the stock j-pipe that came off the stock turbo on the SR20DET it was not that loud at all. Then I got a 3" downpipe and hooked it up to an exhaust it was super quiet then also. One night I got a little curious and unhooked my exhaust so I could run it open dowpipe. IT WAS LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was like hooking a loudspeaker up to my engine

also gotta think about it being dumped under the car. It echoes between the ground and the chassis..
Thats why a lot of trucks to this. Helps make them louder.
