Anyone port their compressor housing? results, theory, input.....
I just got a new T3 for my d16. I have a few .42 ar compressor housings so I am porting one of them to see if I can make any noticeable changes (hopefully good ones!).
First I have opened up the inlet by taking out a step that comes out at about a 45 degree angle. I thinned the walls a little at the edge to reduce turbulence also, basically making the opening a smooth funnel shape. I stopped grinding about 10mm before the top of the wheel so i don't change anything 'internally'.
I also started opening up the outlet so it come closer to matching the 2" piping I will have attached to it with a silicon coupler. The walls at the this end are really thick so there was a significant step from about 1.3" to the 2" pipe. I am blending this back a couple inches. I plan on leaving about a 1/8" thick at the rim to reduce any turbulence from the abrupt increase in diameter.
Anyone else tried this? any results?

might help a little....your better off porting your exhaust housing i think....

Ya turbine housing and WG housing are done already I'm just hoping smoothing the compressor housing will make run a little cooler charge because of the reduced turbulance. I don't really know what to expect.
