Anyone measure a set of stock bore wiseco pistons?
Well my motor has been rattling since the day I built it, and tonight I finally had a chance to measure one of my wiseco pistons. Well sure enough, the spec sheet said 3.189 for the bore, with a suggestion of .003 clearance. I measured the pistons and it turns out that the measure about 3.1800 inches. What should I do? I got them from race engineering, but its not their fault since the spec sheet was correct. Since they have been run in an engine will wiseco help me out?
Thanks,
Craig

Re: Anyone measure a set of stock bore wiseco pistons? (VanHonda)
Well, I just thought I should clarify this so I dont give a bad impression of Wiseco. I brought my pistons inside and let them warm up to room temp. which I should have done from the beginning. I cleaned and re-measured them and it turns out that the following numbers are correct. Measured at 1.3" from the oil ring, the diameters are...
1-3.1858
2-3.1850
3-3.1862
4-3.1864
The number 1 and 2 pistons are still a bit small but relatively close the the suggested 3.186 dia. with the suggested clearence of .003 included. I am stillnot sure why I had so much slap when all that was done was a light hone. I checked the bore and their is no ovaling and no difference from top to bottom. There is noticeable wear on the pistons and cylinder walls if you look close, but why would this be?

what was the taper finish on the pistons???????
Did you supply the piston to the machine shop before the honing???
IF not why??????
