anyone knows of some sort of electronic device that cut boost after reaching a preset amount ?
sorta like a prevention to boost spiking?
so let's say I set it at 9 psi if it ever spike that high, it'll automatically open the wategate to dump exhaust gas out ...

Hondata
It has a boost cut circuit which will cut power if a certain boost pressure is exceeded. It is user definable.

I thought the Apexi AFC-R is also able to prevent boost spiking?

The AVC-R can control boost, but if the wastegate or some other issue is causing boost to spike it can't control it. Hondata just cuts fuel when it senses too much boost...

Injecting zero fuel doesn't hurt anything. You get no combustion.. that's what you want.

It's not electronic, but that's what a pop-off valve is for, to prevent boost spikes.

Yeah, I run one .......You need two things: a msd softtouch rev limiter (or 6 series ignition with this built in), and either a gauge w/ a warning light (and output at warning....like the Greddy gauge) or a pressure switch.
What you do is have the gauge or switch hit a relay that switches between the msd running through the rpm pill or running strait (no resistor).
This method has been working great for me. In addition I will soon be adding a NOS fuel pressure safety switch so I can't pressure drop out on me.
If you want more info on this and wiring schematicpoo poo me up.
