I'm thinking about going turbo, but the cops are a pain where I live . So has any company made an intercooler that has a CARB # on it ? Thanks for any help you can give.

I know there are CARB #'s on most turbo kits just not on the intercoolers.

Can't you just pull an IC off a Starion or Supra or something? Do OEM intercoolers have CARB #'s?

Here in Cali if it doesn't have a CARB # they (police) will send you to a referee for emissions testing. I know the GReady kit has a CARB # ,but that doesn't include the intercooler.
I heard GReady was trying to get a CARB # for the small intercooler ,But If I go turbo I would prefer to get a larger one with a CARB #.
Currently I am running a N/A set up. But if I can't make a Turbo system that looks smoggable I will probably end up supercharging my car. Cause at least the JRSC has a CARB stamp. The car in question is a 99 SI and staying N/A with all that wieght is not getting me anywhere . Ya my car is quicker than it was , but its far from fast
And to the guy that asked yes here in Cali you do need a CARB # for a CAI. and yes CARB does suck . Its to the point where I would probably move just to be able to do what I want to my car. Except the weather keeps me here ( and of course freinds and family.)

Sometimes they'll send you to the ref even if you have CARB #'s. My cousin had to go to the ref, and all he has is i/h/e all with CARB EO's(except the exhaust, since exhausts don't get CARB #'s).

inspyral , sorry to hear that . I heard once you get sent to a ref every time you get his car smogged after that it has to be done by a smog only station or ref.
