Anyone know anything about rx-7's?
I just finished stripping the engine bay of an rx-7 that a friend of mine gave to me, and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about converting an oil cooler into an intercooler. I'm already sure i'm going to have to hack off the ends and weld on a new inlet/outlet, but i'm wondering if the actual cooler itself would be capable of supporting boost pressures.
TIA, guys.
P.S. It looks like this: http://students.washington.edu...s.jpg
It's the cooler mounted in front.

Very little air is going to be able to flow through that. I'd be amazed if you could ever build positive pressure at the IM with that thing... heh.

they are using it as a water cooler and that is possible. Sure go ahead and try it....I'm sure it would work if you really clean it out of any oil

i don't think he is asking to use this as a heat exhanger for a air/water IC... I think he wants to use it as an air/air IC.
heh.

does not sound like a good idea to me
just buy a good intercooler and be done with it...then use the oil cooler for an oil cooler
