Default Anyone interested in a modded tensioner pivot place for JRSC?

Dan and I were talking about making a custom pulley tensioner that will allow for more travel when tensioning the belt. I finally got a shop that was willing to make them. Its a modified version of 051-103. I lengthened the overall length of the plate and added a kickout on the back to lengthen the circular slot & give it more travel. More travel means you can accommodate for more belt stretch and/or run a longer belt for more wrap around your pulley. More wrap means you could run a smaller nose pulley without slippage b/c you're getting more belt/pulley contact area.

I also talked to them about doing a reproduction of the 051-105 Stabilizer Bracket to Cylinder Head. It seems like I hear about people losing that bracket pretty often (I lost one, too). I'm having them machined out of aluminum, just like the Moss parts.

Here's the Moss Diagram with the parts circled.

a sketch of the modified tensioner:

Likely will depend on the number of people interested. Probably around $40 +/- $10. Moss's price for the same piece is an insane $120. I was hoping to get around 10 ppl interested.

Setup costs are a bitch. For everyone to know, I checked the dimensions on my JRSC setup that's on my engine stand. It won't clear the alternator at the bottom of the swing of the plate, but there's no reason anyone would ever have to have the tensioner back that far.

why not get them laser cut out of steel... seems like you could get the cost WAY down, thus gaining even more interest and virtually no setup cost other than drawing that in CAD???

Sh*t man...IDK...I just figured I'd try to make the piece as close to the original piece (material wise) as possible.

Considering the price is around 1/3 of what Moss charges, I think the price is fair.

Also have to realize the market for JRSCs is limited.

oh is see your point.... what if they laser cut it out of aluminum or even water jet... machining can be high... not dissing on your idea, but the seller has to be profitable to bother w/ coming out w/ a new product... and in the end, the consumer wins... even if you laser cut them and made a butt load of money, its still a good price concidering the alternative...
