Is anyone here running over 8 psi on a d16z6??
I'm tempted to turn my boost up to maybe 10 psi...I have a d16z6 with stock internals, so I was wondering how well it will hold up. Let me know what you guys think.

I'm running 8lbs daily and 10lbs occasionally on my stock D16Y8. I've been doing so for almost 2 years, most of that time I was running horribly lean. Even so, I haven't had any problems. If you can get the proper fueling and can keep it well tuned, I don't see why you couldn't run 10lbs on your Z6, but if you ever lean out or detonate...

I'm not worried about fuel, I'm worried about my block...I'm really hoping to be able to run 10 psi daily w/o problems. Most people seem to stay between 6-8 psi...but every once in awhile I hear about people running as much as 12psi on stock internals w/o a problem. Maybe I'm just being a ***** about it, but the thought of my engine blowing up makes my stomach turn

I think it all comes down to tuning. If you can get it tuned right, I don't see a problem with running 10 or even 12lbs or more on a stock D series. I would just be constantly worried about something happening that I didn't foresee that might cause me to lean out under higher boost, and we all know what can happen then. You can always get forged rods and pistons for added security, but the block itself should be able to take that much boost. I think Nathan in Thailand is running like 17lbs on his stock D16Y8 block. Of course, he has extensive engine management and A LOT more fueling. I think he's also running some Supra pistons on modded B series rods, but the block itself is stock.

I have a jackson racing fuel pump (walbro), vortec rising rate regulator, and a apexi v-afc. I'm currently running 7 psi and my car has been tuned on a dyno so I'm not running lean or rich. I know the fuel system is ok for 10 psi, but I'm worried about the block and internals.
