Anyone here from Maryland and can tell me what emissions is like?
I have never had to go through emissions driving a car from the 70's but I want to make sure I understand it correctly. If I have any turbo kit besides the CARB Greddy kit I will fail right? Even if I passes the sniffer or the OBDII ECU check just having a turbo will fail me right?

I personally never had any underhood checks and had 3 Integras go through emissions. Although I've been to the same place each time. If you pass "the sniffer" that's all there was for myself. No visual checks under the hood @ all.

I dont remember any visual checks either. Now with Hondata, does anyone know for sure if we'll run into any problems?

I am just worried about the visual inspections which is why I was thinking about going with the CARB Greddy kit. I would rather get the DRAG III kit and now I was thinking of getting that and just taking it off before I go to emissions every two years.

I think that the only jurisdiction that does a really **** underhood check is California. The DC inspections goons didn't even blink at the JRSC and all the hacks under mine and she passed the sniffer (just ) so i'm good to go for 2 years.

So all you people from MD out there what do you think, should I just get the drag kit and try inspections and if I fail I can take it off and just roll back for another check?

im in baltimore county, and i got a waiver for my emissions because my car is lowered (not much, neuspeed sports) and they didnt want to put it on the rollers. i havent seen them make anyone pop their hood, but the first time i went (2.5 yrs ago, they gave me an idle test where you just hold throttle at 2.5k rpms and you pass, second time i got a waiver. the people that work there are a bunch of punks who are doing community service for either high school or for getting arrested and such, so i dont think you'll really have a problem, because i never did, hell i dont even run a cat

i have the same problem. I'm gettin a b18c or b16a swap this summer and I too am thinking of goin with a Drag turbo setup. Has anyone with a turbo kit passed emissions with a turbo kit???? I know 2 years ago when I took my maxima up there with all the bolt on's all they did was plug it up to the obd machine, my car was on the rollers but, they didn't run it with the fan and all. they simply plugged something to my comp and off i went. any info would be helpful, thanks everyone, I'm from Towson, MD.

yeah, the people who do the tests are usually there because of community service and **** like that. if you fail. pay them off. 50 spot worked for my emmisions and inspection. then after my inspection i had to promise to take the kid for a ride in my car which i never did. there is ways around it
