anyone have any suggestions on where the smoke is coming from?
hey everybody, i got a d16z w/ a greddy turbo kit on my 95 civic ex. Everything is stock except for the turbo and exhaust. Its set at 5 psi, and just recently i turned it up to six. then thats when my car starts to smoke from the motor. The smoke is coming from the back of the engine, below the intake manifold. i've checked my down pipe for leaks and also replaced the intake manifold gasket, but its still smoking from the same area.
I don't think it could be the head gasket b/c my car idles normal, and it drives. but the engine smokes, anyone have any ideas on what it could be?. thanks.

From your description, I have no idea. When I blew my rings I had smoke coming out of the PCV systems (out of the filter on top of the valve cover), along with out the exhaust. Checking your compression will help you conclude whether the gasket or other things are at fault.
