Default to anyone that has rebuilt a ebay turbo some questions

Ok I have a cx racing. 50 trim t3t4 turbo I over oiled it and its starting to go. Now I wanna know is there a garrett kit that's fits it good or should I just buy the ebay rebuild kit meant for it. Any help is greatly appreciated

doesn't matter what kit you use, if your turbo is loose as a goose because you didn't regrind the shaft and bearing housing or use over/undersized bearings in the reman, it won't last that long or make much power. Not to mention the fact that the turbo needs to be put on a balancer once it's back together...

At this point I'd ditch the eBay turbo and purchase a quality turbo. I've been happy with Precision. They make quality turbos and are affordable.

This is just an example.

I was also going to suggest getting a quality turbo as opposed to rebuilding a garbage turbo.

Don't waste your time rebuilding it, they're only $90 for another one on eBay. I replace mine every 5K miles or so

Throw the heap of crap in the bin and be done with it. Its not even worth the effort.

I agree with the 2nd poster. Just ditch the turbo and move onto something else. Trust me, the one thing you don't want to go cheap on is the turbo..

Yeah that gets old. I kept putting different JDM stock take-off turbos on my EVO just to see what they would do, and now turbo #4 is going south with only 40,000 on the odometer. At the beginning it was fun to see what the turbo off a A/T car would do, now I wish I would have just put a gt30 on there and left it alone.
