anyone had a msd ignition go bad?
my friend just got his 93 hatch with turbo gsr motor, aem ems, msd dig6(with external coil) tuned like 5 days ago...the day after we get back it starts then dies, then wont start again.
we tested and it was getting no spark. so after a bunch of trouble shooting we got another distibutor from a friends 95 gsr, put that in with the stock internal coil without any of the msd ignition **** hooked up and it started right up...so we then hooked up the msd and external coil to the working distributor and it again wouldnt start up and was getting no spark.
we tested two different coils and neither of them fixed the problem so that must narrow it down to the msd correct?..the car was running fine for 6hrs on the dyno with numerous start ups, then the next day on the street and out of the blue this **** happened.
anyone else have anything like this happen with them?

Yup, it's been happening on my friend's B18C/EJ6... He has his 2-step and MSD HVC box, once and awhile after launching it won't let the car rev above the 2-step pill... So yesterday at the track we pulled the 2-step out and it still did it, so yea... We're just going to swap in a new box and see if it fixes the problem... Good Luck too, Latez

wonder what causes this to happen...we talked to a guy that said the way msd reccomends running power for it (one line directly to the battery and one power sources to 12v ignition) isnt a very good way, that you should run the big power wire into a switch or put a big inline capacitor on it in case there is a voltage spike.
we did another test yesterday by hooking up the external coil to it but leaving the msd box unhooked and it started right up still, so my friends calling msd today to see whats up
