Default Anyone got dynos of LS/Vtec turbo (STOCK vtec head only)

I'm really considering going LS vtec in my turbo ls but I am afraid I won't get the numbers I want from a stock vtec head (either gsr or b16 head) without upgrading the intake manifold and cams. Anyone have dynos of just stock ls vtec turbo without upgrading the im or cams? Please post your setup, thanks.

What hp numbers are you looking for exactly? My LS/VTEC turbo is as stock as it gets. I made 356 whp at 15 psi - all stock B16a head / all stock b18a block for over a year now with no problems to date.

Brief setup:
DRAG III kit
InlinePro 2mm headgasket
ARP Headstuds
3 in exhaust
V-AFC/FMU/Holly intank/RC 440's
and a whole lotta C16..

Ive heard good things about vafc+fum+fuel pump+injectors. Care to share a little more? If not if you could pm I'd be interested...

The car usually traps 119-120. 121 was a couple of weeks ago with a little extra boost The car weighs 2550 with me in it.

Not to get off topic or thread jack..

Real engine management is always the best choice when it comes to turbo Hondas.

At the time when I switched to an LS block, I worked with what I had and basically took it to the limit. Its not the best option for fuel management, keep in mind there is no control over ignition timing events. I'm still running the stock obd2 ecu with no btm. With the headgasket, the compression ratio is like 8.6 to 1. It drives fine, makes a nice transition in and out of boost. Most of the time I run 12 psi on pump. 15 psi and up is from time to time on C16 only. I had it tuned by InlinePro in Va. Give them a call and they can give you more info. They have tuned many cars like this and there are a lot of threads about it. You will find mixed opinions, keep in mind only within the past couple of years has engine management became more and more affordable. I plan on purchasing AEM within the next year or so..

Is the only reason you needed the c16 b/c you were just running the vafc/fmu? I would think with only 15lbs and 350 hp you would be able to pull that from pump gas easily.

Basically yeah, its an extra safeguard from detonation. You are right though, 350 whp can easily be done on pump with engine mangement. ****, I've seen people put down over that with stock motors on pump..

But aren't u also using GS-R cams w/ STR cam gears and ITR intake manifold? Those are the numbers I was looking to get but from what I have seen, stock b16 head, im and b16 cams on LS bottom are making around 250hp at 9-10psi

What setup are you running? Sorry that I forgot to mention those. I wish I had before and after dyno comparisons, but I put everything together from the beginning. I had all the parts lying around so in they went. The cam gears are set at 0 so they are more bling than anything else. It depends on your turbo too. The LS/VTEC dynos that you have seen, where they DRAG kits? TO4B's/E's?

I don't have the dyno sheet available right now, but I made 268whp and 245 tq at 7 psi witha bone stock b18b and b16 head(b16 cams) I was also running a v-afc and 450's. I know if I turned the boost up it would be alot more, but I was happy with what I got and i was able to pull off some 11 second times with it.

I'm LS right and I want to go ls vtec and make 300hp around 10psi and 350 at 15psi. I'm really short on cash so I'm trying to figure out if a stock b16 head with stock im and cams will get those numbers.

My setup:
rev hard kit
t3/t4e 57 trim
550cc injectors
JP pistons and eagle rods (9:5:1 ratio)
s200b

I have a TO4E 60 trim on my setup. With your higher compression ratio and Hondata, you should easily be able to achieve and exceed your horsepower goals. Since you are on somewhat of a budget, get it dynoed with what you have and see what it puts down. There is always room to upgrade later on. With forged internals, I wouldn't hesistate to turn up the boost a couple extra pounds to find the magic number, but thats just me...

Good luck with your setup!

U got a sick ride man. If I had the money I would of gone with the stock type r head but if i can make 350hp with a stock b16 head and intake manifold then Ill be happy.

Really the only different between the b16 and type r head is the cams. There isnt any kind of special port to it. Just hand polished really.
