Anyone ever mount the wastegate directly on the housing??
I was thinking about mounted my turbosmart 45mm wastegate to a garrett ta45 turbo..Cut a hole on the exhaust housing then add a pipe for the wastegate to sit on..Are there any problems with that and has anyone done it??

my "GUESS" would be that would be a little late to try to bleed the exhuast gasses and might be hard to control boost.

its pretty much the ideal spot to have it since you are dumping all the runners equally. Especially if its not at 90* like most externals are done. A nice Y shape with equal or even wastegate favored flow would be ideal. Casting your own housing is really the only 'right' way to do this though.
