anyone ever heard of running toluene in your tank of gas? octane rating of 114??
anyone ever heard of running toluene in your tank of gas? this is some info on it i pieced together from an ariticle someone sent me.. bear with the grammer and flow of my post.. it has a octane rating of 114..and allows you to be able to run about 5 degrees more timing under boost...you can get it at hardware stores... its a paint solvent...the F1 cars of the 80s used to use it for fuel.... its what gives unleaded gas it octane rating...do a search on the internet tons of info on toluene and xylene (which is rated 117).....toluene has a better BTU than xylene so toluene will produce more power though..... run 2 gallons of toluene to 8 gal of 93 octane.....you shouldn't go over 30% though... because it might not atomize correctly
I am curious if anyone has ever used this stuff or has any more information on it?
