anyone ever broken/fried a moates usb burn1 unit??
currently i have good suspicion that i f'ed up my moates burner. every once in a blue moon, i have to take it in the car, but i keep it in the static free bag the whole time. i also ground myself when touching the chip. anyhow, my a/f is all over, and varies from different burns, but still isnt where it was previously. just seeing if anyone had their burner **** out on them before.

i had one crap out right after i got it,,,craig replaced it for me.
depending on how long you've had it...he might help you out. worse case you'll have to buy a new one...good thing they are inexpensive.

A Techtom tuner I know had several that were DOA and finally gave up on them. Is this a common thing? I have had my ROMUlator in 100s of cars and all over the country with me and never a hiccup.

I have had 2 willem units mysteriously just stop working after months of use before I upgraded to the moates and now I have had zero trouble. The willem units I always kept in anti-static bags and boxes to protect them due to the exposed components on the pc board and I still had 2 fail. The moates burner rolls around in trash in my back seat, gets stepped on, played with by my kid etc... and still zero problems after well over a year of use, its tuff.

Like he said this will tell you right there if you burns are successfull and if the data is 100% correct.

hey thanks guys. it doenst get banged around a lot at all. it sits in the bag on my desk. it verifies sucessfully with the buffer. i think ill have to email craig. i had an issue about 2 years ago and he was cool about it and helped me out. im just trying to troubleshoot my problem. i already used a different resistor box, different chips, different ecu's and different .bins to no avail. this same kind of thing happend once before, and i ordered a new burner and i think that was the problem

take no offence to this question, but...
are you putting the chips in the right way? I think it will still verify right even if you put the chip in the wrong way..

no its good advice. sometimes stuff slips your mind.
however i do put the chip in right, arrow pointing to the release lever with 2 empty slots on the arrow side. also going into the ecu with the arrow pointing inward, which is proper.
