Ever since I get my DSM 450cc injectors my car is running like crap. Im using a Zdyne Gold SECU. Its a bitch, I start the car cold and fires up fine, if I drive it then let the car sit for a hour the damn thing takes about 3 cranks to start and I get a lovely puff of white smoke. Im sure because its so choked up. Anyway I had to vent

i'll take them off your hands for $25...no use driving yourself crazy.

this is a common problem with dsm. make sure if you were supposed to install a resistorbox do it if you haven't. when you go to start after it's been sitting hot and crank make sure you let your pump prime first and then when you turn it over step on the gas just a little. it should fire right up like stock. that's what i do and it works fine.

Have you checked the intake temp sensor and coolant temp sensors? These can cause problems with stock injectors which only get worse with 450cc's. Pull out the helms & run the tests for these two sensors & see what you come up with.

Im running 450cc dsms on mine.... Starts like a brand new car everytime... all i did was soak them and clean up a little... running about 55psi... hondata 4b here..

As long as we're on the topic of dsm 450's, I'm about to buy some from a buddy and one of them has a crack he said. I'm going to get them cleaned and checked and everything before I use them, but do you think this would matter?? thanks.

Just tuned with a wideband on the street.

Im almost positive the whitish smoke is from dumping to much fuel. If I crank it a couple times and its really chocked up is when I get the white smoke.

Also I didnt have a problem when I used the vortec 12:1 FMU and the stock injectors

This is a fairly common problem with the DSM injectors. In every case, swapping them with RC injectors cures all the problems. Even when the DSM injectors were professionally cleaned and tested and flowing properly.

It sounds like they are leaking. Not a huge problem while driving, but when you turn off the car the pressurized full will leak out the faulty injector.

Either that or a tuning problem.

Well I hope they arent leaking I bought them directly from Zdyne and they are pretty much brand new.

Im going to get it tuned on a dyno soon maybe this will help me out a bit with the smoke issue.

i never had that problem running dsm 450's and the zdyne secu. i'd say something else is to blame.

My DSM 450cc's have worked well for over a year now with no problems whatsoever.
