what works for them may not work for you.
friends 81.5mm gsr made 650 with that turbo. my t67 has the .82 with the p trim, made 710 with it. what are your plans? it may not be worth the added cost. |

Re: anyone boosting using a gt35r with a .82 ar turbine on b series (boostedcivicsir)
yea that a lot of power...i just want to make 300-400 no more than that... i just want to boost and not blow the motor because i want it to be daily driven too

Re: anyone boosting using a gt35r with a .82 ar turbine on b series (poormans_typer69)
gt30 is a great turbo and will do exactly what you want. I personally love these units on street driven honda's.

Go ahead and get gt30 if you want to turn up the boost later. Trust me you will https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emwink.gif It is good for a little more then 500hp. The gt28 on the other hand is a good turbo for the street and spools really quick. The only down side is its good for only 350hp and that's pushing it. Figure out ultimately what your goals are for your car and get the turbo that is best suited for your needs https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif |
Works great IMO....low boost 15 psi and high boost 20psi
hope it lightens up your thoughts.... ls-v 81.5mm https://i298.photobucket.com/albums/...9/DSC02554.jpg |
Re: (mighty137)
i agree with miller, go with the GT30. its an excellen turbo for a daily drive and if you decide to turn the boost up later on, that turbo is still good for 500+ whp.
But the GT35R is still i great turbo. i had it on my daily driver and it was great on the street. the GT3582R is good for 600+whp |

if your guys are recommending a "GT28" and not a GT28R or GT28RS, don't listen to your guys. People who don't use specific turbo nomenclature probably shouldn't be giving out advice. no GT28R will make 300whp. GT28RS will, but that's pretty damn close to it's ceiling. Go GT30R. Don't strangle yourself iwth a t2 flanged turbo right off the bat. |
I have a 81mm 9:1 gsr
I have a 60-1 .63/.70 and a GT3082R I love them both, this thing is a monster @ 19psi |
Re: (Boosted_B_Series)
what will make more power the GT30r or GT35r...what i mean is what will give more power in low boost (remember guys i have high compression piston 11:1) and im planning to put low compression later...

well its common since that the bigger turbo, the GT35R will make more power. |
Re: (poormans_typer69)
don't you have to run 110oct for high compression motors...i hope your tuner knowns what he's doing....there isn't much room for error with high compression

Re: (dannydos)
yea I know that and they know it too ,the thing is that I'm going to lower the compression LOL by putting a thick headgasket and run low boost untill I lower the compression..
|
Re: (poormans_typer69)
if you have a good tuner i don't think the gasket would be necessary and most on here don't think its a very good idea
what about something in the BW s200 range i think that would be ideal https://honda-tech.com/forums/images/smilies/emthup.gif an s258 is capable of 500 whp and with a .55 hotside would spoolin the 3800-4000 rpm range if you went with the .70 for more topend it would spool by 4500 i think it would be awesom for your setup Modified by spoolin turbo s at 8:17 PM 7/19/2008 |
Re: (spoolin turbo s)
why if I thicken the headgsiet wouldnt be a good idea
|
Re: (poormans_typer69)
there is no need for the headgasket at all, keep the engine the way it is and get yourself a 3076r. Just get the tune on point and everything will be fine..
|
Re: (miller)
just go with the gt35r or gt40r and lower your boost till you get lower compretion on your block then turn it up
|
i made 500+ with that turbo
gsr stock sleeves 9:1 eagles stock head |
Re: anyone boosting using a gt35r with a .82 ar turbine on b series (poormans_typer69)
wow everyone has different suggestions IDK what to do 3076 sounds good, I can get my hands on the gt28rs
