Default anyone blew a tuned motor?

I'm just curious if anyone with a tuned turbo motor (ie. Hondata, etc) that blew from normal use. Running the same boost as dynotuned and the motor just let go. Assuming about 275-300 whp with forged pistons.

Mine just recently took a sh@t when being dynoed. Thought it was a headgasket issue but it turned out to be a cracked sleeve.

It was just reaching it's potential when coolant started to come out everywhere.

It got to 19psi made 369whp @ 293.8 ft. lbs. tq. this was on c16 race fuel 20 degrees of timing and BOOM.

I guess there will always be a risk adding a turbo to a Honda, eh?

mine blew on the dyno at AEBS (punks). they said it was the rings but it ended up being 2 melted piston and the other two where cracked pistons (where the top two rings go). they didnt even want to help pay for the fix.

i was told by arias the type of piston i have, that the only way piston would melt was the tuner lean the car out. which AEBS is at fault!!!

i wouldnt recommand AEBS to anyone!!!!!!!!!!!

bah, thats not true man. ANy piston can fail or melt even under a perfect tune.

and when you step on someones dyno, you are still responsible for it- not the shop

there is a risk adding a turbo to ANYTHING. nissan honda toyota etc.

anything not turbocharged from the factory. even then upgrading for more boost puts you in the same boat as these things.

boost = killer

its funny you say that the shop not responsible, dont see why they wanted me to sign some waver after they blew it up instead of before. i didnt sign and had my chance to take them to court but didnt want to wait. so i just decided not to go there or recommend anyone there.

When I was at the dyno last week, they blew up a Cosworth race engine.... the guy just kind of muttered "well, there goes another rod", pushed that off the dyno, rolled my car on *gulp* and went to town...

I suppose if you are asking a shop to run the car over and over, and make obscene amounts of HP, yep, "**** happens". I guess the dyno shops aren't responsible unless they make a really dumb error - but who is to say what is dumb? I've never signed anything before going on the rollers - any comments?
