put an hx35 on my buddies 1jz cressida, has 2jz cams, china manifold and tial 44. its the best sounding car around when the gate opens.

12psi was the lowest, the highest #s were 14psi with a touch of tuning. hes running megasquirt v3

the HX35 will spool earlier than the 60 and make about 550~620hp max
HX40 will out spool the 60 and make about 650~700hp max set-up dependent
the HX35 hot side and HX40 cold side hybrid is just insane its the spool up of a HX35 but max hp of the HX40 and you can usually manage full boost at 3600~4500rpm

Thats a Big mother ****** I was hoping that the HX35 would be faster spoolin than the 60 series. I had a friend with an SC61 on an LS it was tuned with crome but it only had about 1500 RPM of usable power. It was crazy fast in that RPM but you had to wait on it so long you would actually fall out of boost between shifts. It probably didn't help that he was running an LS tranny either

well the holset turbos are all mostly made to hit full boost around 3800-4800rpms some can even hit sooner than that. when you get a holset just make sure you arent reving 8k i dont believe they like it to much and choke like hell

BS holsets LOVE high RPM. 12cm may choke out above 8k. but most come with bigger than that. HY35 is bad idea for anything 9cm will choke the **** out of it. my 40 has 18cm housing. thats around 1.20 AR no chocking that guy out at 9000 rpm lol

lmfao you must have lag out the *** with a 18cm the biggest i would run is a 16cm and i find the 14 and 12 to be perfect

14 and even 16 cm housings for the 40 are SUPER rare only available in Europe.

turbo isn't on the car yet. maybe tomorrow. well see how bad the lag is lol

hx35 is 3" vband

Do you know if its 4 bolt or 5? I believe they are 4 bolts but I'm not sure

Ive got a holset h1c on my h22, i put down 248 at 5 psi. its with a log manifold. my manifold was leaking though so i didnt push it past that. Ive got to get the leak fixed then i will get it tuned to 15psi.

400whp@19psi b16, hx35 w/ 18cm turbine side. ALL OEM excluding eagle rods and wiseco pistons. 20,000 miles@400wheel and counting.

I got about 400 of them at work. Sitting on some Big Cummins Motors. they use the HX35 and the HX40 both do very well on those motors.

So how are these turbos for longevity? Do they last? I had a friend that said he had one come apart on him on an eagle talon.

They are very durable as there meant to be on a diesel which has a long service life and seam to hold up better then most other turbos.Ive seen them barely able to spin the wheel from so much rust as it was sitting in a pile for years go right into service with a little wd40

Thats kinda what I was thinking. I thought that since it was a stock turbo it would be meant to last because after all who would buy a truck that needed to have a turbo replaced every 10,000 miles. I'm thinking he may have just got ahold of a bad one.
