anybody running this turbo?
hey guys i have a buddy who has a wrx and he is planing to upgrade to a bigger turbo and said hed give me a good deal on his. Has anybody ever ran a stock wrx turbo on your d series. internally wastegate and im not sure the name on the turbo he said a vf18? i google searched and nothing let me know what kinda info you might have. thanks in advance. its a small turbo but i will use it for autoX and 1/8th mile and then your occasional fun .

I think it'd be a good turbo, especially for low-end torque.
I'm running a slightly larger turbo than that on 15psi and I love it. Boosting by 3k and it pulls all the way to redline.

Bone stock D16Z6 w/ ARP headstuds.
Hell, you can run a lot more with a turbo that small, hence why I'm running 15psi on my small snail.

As long as you get a descent tune you'll be good to go.
It'll definately make driving a slug of a D series a lot more fun.

thats another problem is im 6 hours for the closest place that will tune so i might send my ecu to a guy i know for a base tune hes gonna copy his tune onto my ecu.
