Any1 pushing 5-8lbs. on a SOHC ?
I'm thinking of putting a Greddy kit on my SOHC VTEC in my CRX. I want to push maybe 5-8lbs. on stock internals. I just want some feedback on this. Like is there big gains, lag, experience, problems, etc. Thanks!

Do a search and you'll find a lot of info in both recent topics and the archives on people who are running a turbo on stock sohcs.
The stock block can definitely handle that kind of pressure, but it's all in the tuning.
There are folks here that have run 10psi with the AFC hack and of course, hondata.

I am currently running a greddy kit on my D16z6 SOHC vtec. I am running 5 psi with stock internals, 1 degree colder plugs, a big type 31( i think ) intercooler, greddy type s BOV, poo meinike(sp?) exhaust, and slightly retarded timing (experienced detonation due to single digit air temps). This is without tuning on the greddy blue box.
I couldn't be happier. The car spools up by 2,500 rpms or so and hits 5 psi by 3,000. The torque over stock is incredible and can be felt the second you hit the gas. Passing in traffic is super easy and the turbo is very responsive. A laggy turbo would suck because this is my daily driver and I couldn't tolerate an unresponsive slow POS turbo. I plan on running 7 lbs this summer when I get the money to upgrade my exhaust. I would reommend the greddy kit to anyone who needs a daily driver and an almost lagless turbo.
