dont really know how it works, but subaru guys use it. then you can run a larger turbo, and there is less to almost no lag because its pre-spooled (from charge pipe air that is blown off/ or exhaust gas from the wastegate (not 100% sure))

I've heard of rally antilag systems... I've heard that it works by changing the timing to allow enough fuel not to burn in the combustion chamber and to instead ignite in the manifold, thus forcing the turbo to keep spinning...
Problem is that turbos only last a few hours with that kind of abuse...

Hmm, you're probably talking about routing the BOV back into the intake, which is mandatory for MAF cars. The mass air sensor reads the incoming air, so if you blow it off, you'll run rich since the fuel is adjusted for the amount of air that was calculated by the mass air sensor. The added benefit of routing the BOV into the intake is that it'll help spool up the turbo in-between shifts, but not from a roll or standing launch.

As for plumbing the wastegate gas, I haven't heard of that one before?

The only true "pre spooler" is nitrous oxide.

I think it's called an anti-lag missfiring system in the Japanese anime "Initial-D".
I've read this from some other forum, here's the link:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forum....html

excerpt:
"Just another name for an anti-lag system. It advances and retards timing like crazy when off throttle so combustion occurs when the exhaust valves are open, sending pressure through the turbo keeping it spooled between shifts or at idle. I got the chance to drive a car equipped with anti-lag- it's amazing! Like having a v8 under the hood- no lag whatsoever. It dosent affect power at all on throttle because it operates normally. The only side effect is that things get heated up a lot and you can expect to fry your turbo if you leave it running for more than a minute or two. I will actually be putting anti-lag on my WRX pretty soon to help spool the big turbo, so we'll see..."

Just use a JRSC for the low end and a turbo for the hight end!

Hahahah, j/k I think it's rediculous when people do that

Personally I like the lag, it gives you more traction
