I know a few guys that would make one for you...
local to CT.

$460 is rediculous money for a downpipe. Even CUSTOM.

That sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Would you pay ~$900 for someone to tune Hondata/AEM/whatever for you?
(hypothetical question)

i have no clue what the labor is, we buy them from maxrev, discount them and sell them.

If you add up the raw materials to anything you are going to pay a premium for the engineering, fabrication and labor.

Congrats on your ingenuity, resourcefulness and frugality. It is also nice to have a dad who knows how to weld I bet. Some people don't.

Ok now most welding shops charge roughly 20-30 bucks an hr labor....least around our area, now most of the places that do these dp's like maxrev have mock ones made up im sure that they use as the template for the ones they make, which then you know where to cut and weld which allows you to just make them, kinda of like an assembly line...now i know your very first one could take a while to make just because thats when your doing measurments and fitments (been there)....but thats the one you make to use as your template for the others that your going to sell, I cant figure more than 2hrs to make one if you have a template in front of you and the parts and know what your doing....so figure in 60-80 bucks labor figuring up to 2 hrs or so to make one....Now im gonna break it down from my thoughts....

So now say $100.00 in parts, $80.00 for labor and throw in the additional cost of $30.00 to cover electric and wear and tear on yur welder (per dp)....thats 210 bucks for a dp to be made and then add additional $50.00 for pain and suffering (or cigarettes if u smoke ) which then you sell the dp for $260 and you made $160 profit (per dp) minus the parts u buy, dish out 4 in an 8hr period and sell them that would be roughly $640 bucks a day you make.....and thats selling at 260 for a high quality stainless DP....This is all fictional from my head but you cant tell me im way off on this? and yes i know there is more to this but i broke it down from my for the people attitude The $260 price tag I might actually consider cause it makes somewhat sense but $460 im just totally blown away

**Yea you can say im lucky to have a dad who welds, danl can back that one up**
