Default any idea if this is repairable

i bought this tranny from a good guy on this forum and the shipping company broke one of the tranny bolt threads...here are the pics:







i wanted to ask is it possible to ask FedEx to pay for the repair (i dont want to to return and get full refund)...only want repair....and do u guys have any idea how much will this cost to repair ?

It'd probably be cheaper to just get a new outer housing and swap the internals over... Find someone with a junk tranny that still has a good housing.

i only have two bolts on my tranny mount anyways. Just try to get a new or used case but you should be ok with just 2 bolts because you have a bottom tranny mount to support it also

and the outer case you dont have to swap anything over you just have to reseal it.

Its fine. Just bolt it up, it wont go anywhere.

The lower torque mounts aren't load/weight bearing... It will probably be OK but personally I would probably try to fix it somehow.

If you do install it like it is, there is a missing 14mm bolt there. fyi.

If you have the piece that broke, just get it welded back in. Is not the big of problem to fix

how much are these casings usually? are they expensive or cheap? and guys do u think while am at it to fit an LSD? am not usre sure where an LSD fit...is it inside that case or it can be added externally....i know how an LSD looks like and that broken bolt thread looks where the LSD fits right?

i contacted gear speed and they said to call them ...they seem to have a quick solution for me, but wanna get ready for $$$...lol

Just have a welding shop fill that in and then retap it. Should be less than $100.

yes, a machine shop can weld that right up and drillit out and retap it.
My last motor in the ITR had that done and it held great
