Default any good ballbearing turbos at good cost?

Are there any reputable companies with ballbearing turbos out there for under 1200? Journal bearing ebay 60 trim isnt going to cut it on my 500hp goal. So I was looking into ballbearing garrett and precision turbos (3076 35r 6262 etc.) And am thinking I will have to up the budget. Any cheaper quality options?

Not really. But you would be happy with a good quality journal bearing turbo if its sized properly.

You want to jump from an ebay turbo all the way up to a ball bearing unit? you will be just fine with a journal bearing turbo and will be able to stay below your 1200 limit and obtain 500 without issues.

depending on the size he wants/needs he could get a good used one around that price range, like a gt30r, the smaller units normally go for much less

I picked up my GT28 for $700 brand new. Granted, bigger turbos are more but you can get into for less then $1000 if you look hard enough.

Those are the journal bearing version that you have there. Similar to the GT28R

Im not jumping from an ebay turbo to a bb. The build is ongoing right now. I had the ebay turbo laying arounf so figured id put it to use however I doubt ill hit my power goal on stock sleeves. Heres a link to the build

Been hearing a lot about the silver surfer and reaper turbos from you shodan. Whats the details on those?

Previous statements on my post linked above said I would not achieve my power goal on a journal bearing turbo so I begun searching for the reccomended bb ones.

If you're lacking on budget, find a properly sized journal bearing turbo...ball bearing really only helps in transient response

As many have said: go with a jornal bearing turbo if you're balling on a budget. If sized correctly you won't have too much more lag at all.

You were lucky. that's not common for that price. The GT28 yes, but not the GT2860R. not common at all.
