Default Any gear sets that are preferred with turbo?

I am hoping that by December I will be able to get into my tranny and swap some parts out. On the list so far is an LSD, clutch, and new synchros for 1st and 2nd. I was wondering if I should bother with changing the gears? flywheel? After my tranny upgrade, I will be ready to go turbo.

you can't buy synchros separately, you have to buy the full gearset. might as well put the new gear in there since you're already buying it...

oh and 1st doesn't have synchros.

Do you have any ideas what might cause first to be stiff going in? It doesnt grind at all, just kind of stiff. Any recommendations on gear sets that work well wiff turbos?

worn main shaft bearings, and damaged shift forks can cause your problem

beat me to it.

more than likely you're going to have to take it out and look to see what all is bad and then get the parts......MOST dealerships will order stuff for you and if you don't end up needing it they won't make you buy it..........at least that's what they've done for me in the past when i had to rebuild my tranny. ended up i was going to need a new main and countershaft (bearings went to **** due to previous owner NEVER checking the tranny oil in 10 years) so they were cool enough to order all new gearsets for me and then when i decided to get a 3-year warrantied tranny from a boneyard with 36k certified miles on it, just kept the stuff i didnt' want (bearings, diff. seals). Call and ask, let them know your predicament, and then see what they're willing to do. Make sure you inform them that with great service comes great word-of-mouth advertising, proven to be the most potent form.
