Any dyno comparrisions.. Skunk2 vs. JG manifolds?
I was a little supprised to see people advocating the use of the Skunk2 IM for GS-R's over the JG unit, I was always under the influence that the Skunk was the better N/A unit while the JG excelled for boosted applications... so, for a ~300whp GS-R, which seems to yeild the best gains, Skunk or JG? Any dyno comparrisions would be ideal!

I think on fi motor the jg smashes the skunk2. the runners are short and straight and big also you should get it port matched for maxium performance

I thought the JG manifold didn't show much gains until the high rpms...whereas the skunk 2 was better throughout.

thats what i thought too that it makes most of its power at like 7-8k+. Im guessing skunk2 is good for 300-350 and jg is 350+.

its not that limit power or anything, people have made over 500 on stock manifolds, The skunk will provide more midrange power while the jg will provide sick power up top.

you would have to raise your red line in order to get the maximum benefit out of the JG. If you leave the red line at stock then the SK2 is the best one.

Thats the impression i was under. IM's only shift the power curve. For daily driving then skunk2 is nice because gains are seen low-mid range. For track use and killer top end JG's design shifts the power curve up to higher rpms
