Re: (4potnick)
I'm also wondering this same question. I'm looking at buying a PeakBoost/FullRace turbo kit for my b18C and currently have the 97' spec JDM ITR tranny. I believe the FD is more like 4.40. I'm looking at getting either the GT3071 or GT3076 turbo. I was always told that longer gears are better for a FI setup. Is this true or should I sell the IT tranny and get a LS or GSR? Remember this is a street car. I want it to be friendly. Furthermore, if I sell the ITR tranny and get something else I will be out of the LSD equip. What should I do...????
TIA

Use the jdm itr tranny you got, you wont regret it. Im using a usdm itr tranny on a t3/to4e peakboost kit and its a blast....... ill be heading to the track on 225/50/15 bfgs hopefully this coming week.......
As far as daily driving its not horrible. I live in a rural area so its not bad doing 55mph down most roads........

Short gears are better for any setup wanting to accelerate better, given that you have the proper suspension and tire setup to actually hook......

FWIW- the GT42R on my racecar, makes more power down low than the t3/t67 did on my street car. (and obviously blows the t3/t67 out of the water up top)
