dont do it!!

the lag is unbearable and the car falls completely on its face with anything below 5500. bleh.

it matters what size motor its going on if its a good price ill buy the t3/t4 with the .82 housing they have killer top end it don't mater when u start spooling u just need to stay in boost when u going Thu the gears

on the street 1st gear is **** anyhow on a turbo car making any power

I think Internet ay has a CRVTEC (2.0L) with a redline of I cant remember what. I know a lot of H22 Luders that are running .63 exhaust A/R's and they usually hit 7-10 PSI by 3800-4000 RPM's (7400 redline)

i have a ls/vtec bored to 84 mm, which is somewhat close to a 2.0 with a redline of 8500.

well than I guess now it depends on how much PSI you want to boost and what you compression ratio will be. ?

I have a t3/to4e with an .82 a/r turbine and 60-1....I'm gonna bolt on my .63 housing first and try that....

I was running a NON Ball Bearing T3/T04E (.82 A/R Turbine Housing Stage III Turbine & .60 A/R Compressor Housing 57 Trim Compressor Wheel) with a stock SR20DET w/ 8.5:1 CR and I began boosting by 3200 rpms and had full boost by 4500 rpms. This is a 2.0L motor! It was Wicked on the top end. I personally like it on the street! It was very predictable when boost was going to come on only because you knew you were going to have some lag, where as the .63 A/R housing spooled up sooner and had power sooner, but it also didn't have as much of a "Punch" up top!

This turbo should be fine! Your higher CR will counteract the fact that you have less displacement! It will be Wicked Fast up top! Most people tend to go with the .63 A/R housing since it is very streetable!

louis, will this turbo still be streetable with the .82 a/r, stage 3 wheel.60 trim, .60 a/r??

Sure it will be, It will just have a bit more lag than the .63 A/R housing. If you can live with it lag until 4500 rpms, then go with the .82. If you want a quicker spooling turbo go with the .63.

we used this turbo:

60-1 with a p trim T4!!! in a .82 a/r housing

the car fell out of boost between shifts and was absolutely the wrong turbo. I have felt the t3t4 .63 and if you have a street car that is a WHOLE LOT of turbo. i dont think you could possible need more of a turbo than that.

this was on a 1.9L gsr with 9.5:1 comp, race car.

The only problem I have with the T04B 60-1 compressor is the fact that it is very inefficient with anything past 14 psi. They work well with lower boost levels and will flow better than a T04E compressor at these levels but the 60-1 is more for large displacement low boost applications whereas the T04E is more efficient and effective on smaller displacement higher revving cars.

I am now running an .82 A/R housing Stage V turbine & .60 A/R T04E compressor housing 60 trim compressor wheel on my car. I will have a bit more lag now than before, but it will support 500+ whp without any problems on my car. I have seen this turbo produce 497 whp with a stock cast iron SR20DET manifold! The boost levels were high (28-30 psi) but the manifold is also very ineffiecient as well. This turbo is being used on a Daily Driven 200SX SE-R. Ben B also layed lown 524 whp with this turbo and a log style manifold! I should have no problem making 500+ with my new equal length stainless steel manifold!

APEXSER, the turbo guru, how much lag is there between a .48a/r and a .63a/r? for my b18b1 RS (6800rpm redline). what would be the difference in spool up time? i hear the .48 will fall off in high rpm's but i dont have a high redline.

The .48 A/R Housing will have very little lag, I am guessing you will start boosting by 2500 and have full boost by 3200-3500 rpms. It will fall off up top and will only be good for 250 whp even if you had a very large compressor mated to it. The .63 A/R housing shoudl start spooling by 3000-3200 rpms and you shoudl be able to have full boost by 4000-4200 rpms with a .50 A/R Compressor Housing & 50 trim compressor wheel! Thsi turbo should be good for 325-350 whp! You can always send the exhaust housing to Extrude Hone to help reduce lag! You can always go with a ball bearing center section also!
