Another turbo mafia weekend.... i hate turbo's....
Well first off the homemade gasket material sucks. Had to replace it twice this weekend. The heat off the dumptube helps to melt that section of gasket on the wastegate..
bolts seem to vibrate loose..
wastegate fitting on side port has stripped threads on that cheesy alluminum vacume connector that screws in.. need to replace that because had to take the one off the top so I could get home.
forgot the tools i carry and had an adjustable wrench, allen wrench for wastegate bolts and two zipties (it did the job, but what a pain)
on way home fuel/air meter went black, car stuttered and lost power.. got off freeway and turned fields off.. fuel returned (no boost thank god), turned fields back in after a few mintues and seems fine, except for idleing a little high and bounching up and down (maybe that damn sensor for tps)...??
wastegate only gave me 1-2psi before becomeing annoying, so getting on the freeway n/a really sucked...
best part is I got laid several times and my girlfriend bought ME dinner at Outback Steakhouse in Santa Anita..
Anyone have any ideas on the fields/fuel/idle problem?
wastegate fitting size?
just though i'd share my horrible sunday..

turbo's are constant maintainance for all those that don't have them....be prepared to have your hood up every time you turn around....
that's not to say that the problems out weight the benefits though
