another stock GSR dyno...WHOA 300HP club!!
i just went to go and get my car tuned today at church automotive in torrance CA. my setup is as followed
stock jdm gsr engine
garret t3/t4 57 trim .63AR
drag charge piping
custom made manifold (thanks renoracing)
tial 38mm wastegate
walbro 255
greddy type s blowoff valve
2.5-3 inch downpipe to full 3 inch exhaust
hondata tuned p72
the wastegate was giving me some issues today. i ordered a half bar spring to come in my tial but apparently it came with a 10 psi spring, so i made it work and just tuned for 10psi. i ended up making 300.9 horsepower and 238tq and he had to let off at 7000rpm due to boost creep from which i think was caused by my extremly long dumptube. i was so suprised as was he. i trust church automotive and would like to thank him very much for making the great power. i will try to get a dyno graph up, the HP line was extremly smooth. i am very happy

Re: (crx2fast)
Ok, this is very similar spec to my ITR but I've got the 0.5 bar spring (I hope!)
Have you got an uprated or stock clutch? Can you get ANY traction at all? I'd be really interested to hear how it drives, ie when does the turbo kick in, how is it for normal street driving, is it hard to launch properly when racing etc?

Re: (angela_itr)
i just got it tuned yesterday so i havent tried to launch it yet. i have an act street strip slutch with heavy duty pressure plate and the engine internals are completely stock. it is a 1999 jdm swap so im not exactly sure on the milage. as for daily driving, my impressions after driving it for one day were that the turbo took a while to spool but once vtec crossed over, it was crazy. i reached full torque at 5500 and basically broke the tires loose in 1-3. there is a little lag but it doesnt bother me too much. thanks for the compliments everyone

lol I can't wait to get my car on the road. Here in the UK most people would never dream that a Honda could make 300hp! Do you still hear/feel the vtec kicking in?
also what does the wastegate sound like, is it really loud?

once vtec crosses over, the car comes alive. it reached full torque and the HP just major jumps. between the exhaust and the loud spooling turbo, it is kinda hard to hear the WG open. i love it and was very pleased with my results

Re: (angela_itr)
does anyone have any input on how i can stop the boost creep. if i take the car all the way to redline, i see about 13lbs of boost.i reach 10lbs at 5000

Re: (tyflip2)
I am sure this is a dumb question since Renoracing knows what he is doing but , is the WG placement centered in teh manifold ? taking from all 4 runners or just one?
nice numbers though man, post that sheet when you get it and some pics of the setup.

Re: another stock GSR dyno...WHOA 300HP club!! (95gsrcivic)
ironically i was running dsm 450's. i went to shawn church thinking that my wastegate spring was 7.5 psi but turned out to be 10psi so we just tuned for that and the injectors were really high in the duty cycle. i plan to get new ones soon.

What do you mean by "new vaccum source"? Your wastegate should never see any vaccum. The lower wastegate port should be connected directly to the boost reference on the compressor housing.

Thats cos the UK uses DIN bhp not SAE.
A few of my friends are near 300bhp, i was making about 240 with a B16 in my rover Coupe
