Another 400 WHP Turbo D16!
Some friends and I made a trip down to see Tony Palo and have his Turboed SOHC Tuned by a master.
Here's one of the final vids from the tuning session. I'll do what I can to post up some specs on the build. ALL I know is that it's a Darton Sleeved block with forged internals, running a GT30 (I think). I'll get accurate specs to post up.
The final numbers were with 25 lbs of boost on Q16. If I remember correctly, he pretty much maxxed out the head.
First pull to hit 400

haha, that's a wireless headset for the shop phone, not bluetooth for my cell phone. That's why when someone calls my shop they get someone answering the phone, unlike at AV Engineering.
Rodney, again, good job putting that setup together, it impressed me!

Yeah, Tony....we were all impressed. All the way around. Rodney's working on some headwork and will be back down for another Re-Tune.
You should've seen Rodney when we got it back to Little Rock. The dude was rolling around going to the street racing spots with the car still on the trailer to try to hustle up some runs!
I was like "DUDE! Noone's gonna run you....you're towing the damn thing around on a TRAILER! That's like dude on Color of Money trying to hustle people and you're carrying a Balabushka cue! You're just ADVERTISING you're bringing a gun to a knifefight."
He says "Man...$17/gal for gas....I definitely don't want to be CRUISING around on Q16! I'd rather tow it for $2/gal."

Damn i don't know if I could eat the cost of the fuel for that setup. Why not go with a bit cheaper race gas because you are only at the 400whp level? I'm sure you can still make similar numbers. Either way great numbers guys. I'd like to know what the rest of the setup is.

He has a Street Gas tune, too. It put down ~300 WHP on like 15 lbs of boost. Thing was...he still had the race gas in the tank. He didn't want to dilute it with pump gas or burn it up cruising around.
He's gonna need to figure out a way to run a dual fuel system. Roll around on 93 octane and switch over when you want to.
