The Amazing EGAY turbo (must see)
Ok heres the story.. my good ole garret finally let go a few weeks ago. I have a friend who is pieceing together a turbo kit for his 240sx and has a cheap turbo that he bought off ebay... he figured it should last alittle bit and said "oh well its only 200 dollars".. I put it on my car to test it out and though maybe it would last long enough until I found a REAL turbo. This is what happened after 20 miles of driving and 3 PULLS!!! not even hard pulls either just a little bit in 3rd and 4th. The ******* shaft bent and the whole turbo seized and starting shooting smoke and oil out of my exhaust. It was a bigger turbo (57trim) then my old garrett and the couple pulls i made it actually pulled really damn hard.
What a piece of ****.. this was only 20 MILES!! If you want a turbo to last 20 miles then go ahead and pick yourself a BRAND NEW one on egay for 200 bones.
I am now looking for a new or used turbo, if anyones got one let me know.

even your normal ebay turbo & the **** that ssac sells would last longer than that. You either did something seriously wrong or there was some major problems with that turbo prior to you installing it.

Don't most of those knock-offs use Garrett wheels/shafts?
Those turbos aren't that cheap.. they may not last a year or two, but it damn well better last longer than 20 miles. I think it might be a problem with the setup.
Several people on here have run SSAC/XS P turbos at 9-12 psi for 9-12 months without problems..
The quality isn't great, don't get me wrong, but the whole company was overhauled a while back and the quality improved somewhat. Still not highly recommended, but wth.

Re: The Amazing EGAY turbo (Muckman)
You can only leave feedback up to 30 days after the auction. 90% of all people get the turbo, see that it doesn't have shaft play and that it's new and they'll leave feedback. A few weeks later, they get it on their car, blow it up, but already left feedback, or ran out of time.

Def.That has happened on a couple ebay turbos. This is why when i get a knock off part i double check the assembly as alot of the earlier wategates had diaphrams improperly installed, loose bolts etc.
