Default Am i going too big with the turbo?

I am going with a .60 A/R housing 60 trim wheel and the turbine is a .82 A/R housing it is a T3/T04E.

Is that some thing that is going to be hard to spool, by the way i am looking on getting 500+ whp on race fuel and drive it on the the street too once in a while.

Is that too be too big? If so what should i go with this is going onto a 1995 gsr integra

that sounds like a pretty good turbo to go with, you might want to look into a stage 3 or 5 wheel though. on a b18c1 it shouldnt be THAT laggy... talk to the guys at http://www.cheapturbo.com, they know their stuff

with that turbo and a manigold from full race should do the job?

i am building my bottom end also, what do you think about that it is all going to be sleeved and all the other goodies.

in that case what should i be pushing about when all done and over?

I think that you should research and read up about everything before you start buying. Planning will save you a lot of money, believe me. You say that you want 500+ hp but dont expect to just slap it all together and get that kind of power out of your first application. Dont rush into things. Good luck.

That turbo will support 500whp, and probably a bit more. You should see full boost around 5500 rpm. The turbo is not the only thing that makes power though. If you are running race gas, just run more timing to make the power. The 60 trim compressor maps match b18c engines very well, especially at higher boost levels. The turbo should be efficient till around 24-25psi.

With 24-25 psi of boost do you think i will hit my mark? and that is going to be on race fuel too

That turbo will easily support the power you are looking for. Great choice!

what about a t04s 60-1 w/ .82 a/r or a t62-1 w big shaft? do you think they will be too big for the street? will either of those turbos be too laggy? i want a new turbo for a 2.0l b16 and i dont want to go with some thing too big but i want a BIG turbo. any suggestions?

The 60-1 and 62-1 t4 variety are way to big for the street. You can support 500+whp with a t3/t4 and still get decent spool up. I dont understand why you would want something even more laggier? You cannot use 350whp+ on the street anyways, its just all wheel spin. So unless you are running some decent sized slicks to drive everyday, all that power is just a waste. My choice on a 2.0 engine would be t3/t4 60 trim, .82a/r or 60-1 t3/.63a/r. Both will make full boost about the same time, but the 60-1 will support a bit more horsepower. But in the same token the 60 trim compressor map is better suited to the 2.0 engine efficiency wise than the 60-1 compressor map.

I run the t3/t4 62-1 w/ .82a/r on the street. you ever see a civic run top end?? it all depends on what you are looking to do with your car. i like to run high mph roll.

What is your spool up time? What engine do you have in your civic? Curious since i could barely spool up my 60-1 .63a/r with my b16a i had awhile back.

hehe. its like the supra guys. Some guys choose the T64/T66 variety cause they want quick spool and good midrange while others choose the T88 variety. 3rd/4th gear who is 10cars in front? I once heard a 60-1 owner talk about turbo lag, i think he said something to effect of "once the 60-1 spools up it doesnt matter what turbo the other guy has"
