am i getting scammed? help me out
This guy in Cali is sending me a full turbo kit. minus the downpipe. The ups shipping weight on it was 21 lbs. Does this sound correct for fmic, mani, turbo, and all ic lines, wastegate and bov ?? let me know. I thought it would weight more like 40 lbs
btw. we did this through escrow.com so my money is secure, but I only have 1 day to inspect the goods. thanks!

yeah when i picked up my greddy kit without the intercooler it was at least 40 lbs if not more however it had a cast mani

Did you get the oil lines, though it's only like half a 1lb. What kind of intercooler is it? How many piping pieces do you have?

the guys seems legit, has his own show rz performance in cali, and went with escrow, the onlything I am worried about is the miniscule 1 day inspection period.
to comfort myself I have picked up boxes that I thought were 30-40 lbs but were only 20-25 just due to the akwardness of the box size.

It may be coming in two boxes, and there is some miscommunication.
I wouldn't pack a heavy *** turbo in the same box with a fragile IC. My $0.02

maybe the shipping weight is just what he entered onto a form, and not the ACTUAL weight of the shipment. I know this is possible for UPS, you'll save on shipping charges too.

If he's just sending lines, turbo, mani, and FMIC it could possibly weigh about what he says... You didn't mention anything about piping or downpipe in your post that I saw, which could make up for the extra 15-20 lbs. you think are missing...

OK guys I finally got the story straight. Two boxes were shipped, but Escrow would only let him enter one tracking number, so now I have two packages. One 19.1 lbs and one 30.3 lbs.
This consists of a small T3, drag manifold, FMIC, BOV, wastegate, oil and air lines, fmu, and the downpipe flange but no pipe.
sounds legit to me, but thanks for you help though, I get nervous when I drop a grand on something on the other side of the country
