Always come up missing half quart or more of oil where did it go?
On my boosted h22.....its stock and motor is very very strong. Doesnt smoke or anything at WOT.....can to much oil pressure cause it to burn oil? I have a restrictor but hasnt put in yet. I was told the reason we run -3an lines is to restrict it enough, but then other people say to use restrictor and that'll save from burning oil. Just curious if everyone else has to put inline restrictors in or what the case is. My oil pressure at WOT is like 60-70psi...

since you already have the restrictor, use it. It can't hurt....see if it fixes your problem.

Welcome to the H22 oil burning club. About 99% of all Preludes burn oil, even new. Its just a natural thing for them. My car has no oil leaks, compression is perfect and it still burns oil. I have to add about 1qt every 3000miles.

Do you have your PCV valve connected?
you might not be burning oil at wide open throttle but under heavy vaccuum.
have someone bump the throttle and stand behind the car when they let off the throttle ,it will go into higher vac..see if it puffs some smoke for a few seconds...
If its burning it under vac..it could be intake valve seals or a PCV valve.
As for using 20-50, i wouldnt use that thick oil in a honda..the thicker oil goes through oil passages slower when you start up and your cams depend on that oil bc they have no bearings..i stick to 10-30w

Aren't oil coolers really hard on the oil pump? This is something that I read multiple times on here.
BTW, H22s naturally burn oil. I am normally .5-1 quart low (Mobil non-syn 10w-30) after 2000 miles and I have NO LEAKS, plus I am running N/A with a stock P13. However, I do run a half quart more then what's recommended. And yes I change my oil after 2000 miles, better safe then sorry. I will be changing my oil every 1000 miles when my motor is boosted. The added heat of FI breaks down the oil at a much more rapid pace then N/A. But what do know.
