Alright what the hell... Skunk2 is getting a horrible call tomorrow from myself.....
So listen to this... please give me suggestions/input. Cliff notes at end.
First time in a long time, I was able to take my car out for more than just a quick scant around town. My friends and I were driving on the highway, going to take pictures of our whips.
I was going about.... 50mph, and pushed it to like 65/70. I shifted gears and noticed my boost gauge sitting on zero (zero boost, zero vac). I thought mypedal was stuck to the floor or something, but NO.
I noticed I had NO BRAKES! None at all, and when I tried to use the E brake, ti did little since my car was revving to like 4k, sitting on zero boost.
SOOOOO long story short, after avoiding several cars, taking an exit ramp too quickly, almost smashing another car.... I finally coasted to a stop.
The nipple for the brake booster had popped off the manifold, leaving my brake booster with nothing. I was rendered useless.
So as soon as I have time, I will go in and tap every focking port on that manifold, using pipe threads and earls pieces. I dont trust this anymore.
What should I do?
Cliff notes: Brake booster barb popped off manifold, leaving me with no brakes and almost hitting everyone.

Don't over react you lost your assist not your brakes. Just use a little muscle and it will still stop the same. Remember cars didn't always have power brakes.

thats true, the brakes are working 100%, just need more power to press the pedal. Well, it is a race part and there is no warranty on this stuff, good luck.

Same thing happed to my friends N/A car. Was tracing down a weird idel when low and behold I touched the brake vacume line and it moved, the nipple. The only thing holding it on was the vacume created by the motor. Globbed some JB weld on it, shoved it back in, and to this day, you could pull the motor out by the nipple, it worked that good.

I'd say just jb weld it back on. You should have been able to stop w/o the assist. It's like if you have your car on a hill turned off, you can still stop it with the brakes.

I agree. Just put a little more *** into it next time I've lost my brakes before and its some seriously scary stuff but it can be handled.

True true... the brakes were a little hard to stop... actually very hard. I know its a race part and there is no warranty, so I dont stand too much of a chance- just wondering if you had any ideas.
Im just going to tap the port with a pipe thread, and while Im in there Ima tap a few more so I dont need to run countless tee's.
thanks-

This will not happen with an Edelbrock intake manifold, all screw-in plugs. Brass fittings that also are the correct metric sizes.

Edelbrock Victor X
JB weld is probably worse than what Skunk did....JB weld = ghetto fix
Must be why people say to the Victor X for boosted engines
