Here is the situation......My friend has a 97 LS with a Drag 3 kit runing 5 pounds on boost. The motors bottom end is built. The car has 3 inch piping from the header to the muffler with a hollowed out cat. The car seems to puff white smoke on and off at idle. Is this normal or is there something wrong with the car.

I have a 97 prelude running 7 psi of boost, stock motor, Vortech 12:1 FMU, removed cat. no smoke at idle, black smoke when boosting hard.

What kind of oil is your friend using? If he's using synthetic then you're not seeing oil smoke since synthetic oil(ie mobil 1) will not smoke. you're probably just seeing that whitish smoke from running too righ at idle and right off throttle.

that happens on my 96rs, do a compression test. one of my cylinders is low.

Let's see, we have white, black, blue, hehe. Nah, just a little bit of light blue once in awhile from the turbo, it's 15 years old, I dont expect much from it.

checked the compression and the compression is fine. Could it be do to the oil return line. Sometimes when we adjust it the car smokes even more.

if oil is backing up in the turbo it can be pushed through the seals and burn.
