All 400+ whp EF Owners Please!
I'm approaching dyno time on my fully built GSR turbo setup in my EF hatch and am looking to get ~400 whp. This will be my HIGH BOOST setting and only be used at the track. I would just like to hear experiences with anyone else who has a setup with similar power in an EF since the power/weight is so crazy. Let me know, thanks!
Here's my setup just in case:
B18c .5mm overbore
Pauter Rods and Arias 10:1 pistons
ITR Cams with ITR valve springs/retainers
JDM Y1 LSD Tranny w/Action 2md clutch and clutchmasters 8.5 lb flywheel
Spoolin Quick 4 Manifold
Precision SC50 .63 a/r Turbo
Tial 38mm WG
HKS SSQV BOV
AEM True Boost Controller
RC 1000cc Injectors w/ High Flow Fuel Rail and Aeromotive FPR
AEBS Intake Manifold
68mm TB
3" DP/ Exhaust
Neptuned by st00pid (pending)
The suspension is also completely redone as well as a traction bar to be a partially streetable rr/drag (partial raked too) but mostly this car will be strictly used on the rr and drag tracks.

Good luck with your search for power. You should see it @ between 14 and 16 psi. Depends on type of dyno, intercooler, exhaust etc. lots of fun but you'll probably need something like BFG DRs for street driving (at a minimum) and still won't have much 1st - 2nd gear traction. Electronic boost control helps that can phase in boost as speed increases. With those injectors you have lots of fueling 'headroom' for future increases in power.
I have 10:1 Arias also and used water/methanol addition for extra insurance.

its a SOHC though

I'm basically curious if it's going to be overkill with a lot of useless power and no traction. I will be using BFG Drag Radials btw. The AEM true boost allows for dual boost settings so I'll probably stay low boost (~300 whp) through 1-2 and hit high boost for 3-end...
I'm not looking for a dyno queen, I just want to be the fastest possilbe without having to get wheelie bars and 34235235 inch slicks...

Re: (redzcstandardhatch)
A buddie of mine just finished his 458whp LS/VTEC EF last week...
I went for a ride in it and it was pretty much tire spin till about 60mph with him driving it. Once he gets his AVCR gear driven boost settings working i am sure its going to be more useful...
We took it through some of the corn field area strechs of road and he let me get behind the wheel of it. I grabbed second to thrid at about 8k and it left about 25-30 feet of rubber with the road... with a drag radial.
So yeah, its pretty fun

Re: (redzcstandardhatch)
Yea well i thought it was bad until i heard that he is going to run a GT3582R and possibly throw a little direct port shot to it.
The car just got up and running and he is already sick of it.
I told him to atleast get used to the power he has, but i guess 450+ is only enough for him for the first week
BTW the car only weighs 2015lbs.

Geez, he's crazy. I'll be happy with 400, at least for awhile I'd think. If I play my cards right I'm hoping I should be able to hit 10's after it's all said and done. I just refuse to get beat by a stock car and it practically takes being in the 10's to beat the new c6 z06's...

I would be very impressed if your car went into the tens with the hp you are looking at. I am not saying its not possible but...

Yeah, i'm not sure it will either but I kinda have a knack for driving but again, we'll just have to see, time slips talk in this sort of situation...

The problem I mainly have is I need some running room. The car just keeps pulling and pulling. Very nice. BTW I might have to look for you on the roads.....yes....indeed.

If you're talking about a factory diff (Y1 with LSD) it might not hold for long at that power output. Might want something a little beefier.
Make sure you have a ******* good alignment done too. The more accurate the better, my car likes to cross lanes at WOT I'm probably mid 300s or so, don't know for sure - maybe I'll dyno this winter.

Yeah, it's the factory LSD but I've heard of them holding up pretty strong but that's another thing that time will tell. And yes, I will definately have a good alignment...

Oh yes, both hands will be firmly at 10&2 or 9&3 depending on my mood...

I am making 362 on my EF as well and it pulls hella crazy! Unfortunetly had a minor set back and plan to hit the track soon on a race tune with at least 450-475.

I am not going to be launching my car hard, maybe just rolling on it at the most. Mainly, I am just going to use my car's power:weight to my advantage once it is already moving. I am picking up the BFG drag radial's next week most likely. I'll let you guys know how it goes, I am going to make a bunch of videos too.
