its all preference!! the aebs and dartons are very similar. The GE sleeves are unique and have worked very well for me in the last couple years. not to mention they are much less expensive then the other 2. I have had 565 thru my ge sleeves for over a year and plan on going over 600 soon w/o any issues so far!!

Re: Aftermartket Sleeves Ranking?!? AEBS, GE, DARTON? (MotorMatrix.com)
GE is the best I feel for three reasons:
1. Cost. Still several hundred cheaper than other sleeves on the market.
2. Warranty. No other manufactuer warranties thier sleeves. GE stands behind their work 100%.
3. You can bore larger on GE for all motor application than Darton's.
I am sure there is going to be a huge debate, and people will say Dartons are better than other people will say AEBS are better, than there will some other brand people will say are better. I have had three GE blocks, and none of them have failed on me. I continue to purchase their product.

GEM The price is good, the customer service is good, the work is good, the turn around is good, etc. I just got my block back yesterday. The only thing I can complain about is they didn't o-ring the block as I asked.

GE makes a great product, however cheapest isn't always the best solution for some people and their application.
The Darton / AEBS setup is a wet-sleeve system, where individual or multiple cyl sleeves can be replaced, without having to re-do the entire sleeving process all over again. This is nice for people who plan on making a crazy ammount of HP, or an all out race car (where things are designed to, and sometimes expected to break), and replacements are needed.
Otherwise... its a pretty small difference... we're talking maybe 200-300 bucks between systems. Its a small expense when it comes to a fully built motor.

Whats the purpose behind getting your block o-ringed? Do all blocks need to have this?

My hat goes off to GEM. I asked for the block to be o-ringed and they made an honest mistake by not o-ringing the block. I sent Rob the receipt Ted sent me yesterday. Today he e-mailed me telling me they WILL cover the shipping and have it o-ringed. I have always recommended GEM and always will.

I'm going through GE we'll see how it goes. Oh yea, I don't like it when 1 thing goes wrong and then people start criticizing about it. Most of you guys that talk trash on GE haven't even used their sleeves talk like you know everything because you heard about them sinking. Just like the JUN cams, those that haven't used them are the ones who make stupid posts on how JUN cams suck because they shatter. I like to personally experience the product, not just to listen to someone off the internet that had bad luck with them.

I think he has 6 reasons to tell. Maybe more from the past. I'll let Trever tell his own stories and I haven't bashed anyone, I feel like being in a good mood today.

Thats why I said search. I have built three motors with ge sleeves that sank. I have seen at least a dozen more that also sank. I know there are some very respected members on this board that agree but, they bite there tounge for some reason.

All the good poop was deleted from the Endyn board too! I know of 3 reasons and possibly 4 now.

Like where Vince admitted that the sleeves sink, I was just searching for that, so I could post a link.

That whole thread all 4-5 pages has DISAPPEARED. Had alot of good info though, I wish I copied it before. People that never came out and told their stories admitted in that one.
