This depends on the springs them self. However from my point of view, replacing the springs and using OEM ratiners is like doing half a job. But after all this is a matter of opinion, I went full aftermarket with Skunk2 valves, dual valve springs, titanium retainers and Manley vavle locks.

Depends on the spring you use and how high you're trying to rev the engine.
I have a Dseries with Zex springs and stock retainers. Going 1 year strong revving the car to 8200-8500. However, I have a feeling it will bite me in the *** one day, I just don't have enough money in the engine to really give a rats ***.

Hey Shane what's up? Have you seen him lately? ha ha ha. What's up with that 96% status of yours? been naughty boy lately? lol. By the way, The only reason for the ti retainers of course is the weight and not getting valve float in the higher rpm. If you only planning of reving the engine to 8-8.5 rpm, you'll be just fine.
diz nuts.

That is like going to the bathroom and not wiping your a$$ !!!
From experience I would say don't do it , stock retainers tend to snap and dropping a valve is not fun. This happened to me once like 7 years ago and I learned from that experience , just my .02 cents.
